I will be teaching a class Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Nancy's Quilting in Missouri Valley IA.  The classes will start at 9am and run till Noon.  Nancy has been busy cutting kits, measuring floss, and bundling up the sets for the snowman with his whimsical buttons. This wall hanging measures at 10"X12". It is a whimsical fall fellow for primitive covers.  He has 2 clay button eyes and can be stitched up in an evening.

We will be cutting, sewing, and stitching for 3 hours and our goal is to leave with a finished piece...How fun!!!!  I can't wait! Today i am unloading the kiln  and painting extra cupcakes for you to purchase so you can make more of the wall hangings for your family and friends.

Laundry!

2 teach is 2 touch lives 4 ever

This quote was used to create the wall hanging for a friend who is a teacher.  The wall hanging was made to look like a blackboard with chalk writing on it.  Then we accented the it with school themed buttons.  This was a quick stitch and able to be sown up in an evening.  This is something that can be used as classroom decoration.  Hope she enjoys it!

What a Crock!

Prayer Changes Everything (log cabin block)

I sewed a log cabin block on the left hand side using different pieces of fabric.  I then sewed a piece of solid fabric on the right.  Next, I stitched the flower stems and words "Prayer changes everything" with 3 strands of floss.

Finally to add the finishing touches, I coffee stained it and added the flower and angel buttons.

Flower Baskets

I stitched different fabric baskets onto a tiny polka dot fabric and stitched each handle with 3 strands of floss.  I then added tiny clay buttons for the flowers.

Button Bunny

Painted several sizes of round clay buttons "antiqued" them and threaded them on heavy cord to finish off a button bunny...

Iowa Chick

This was a small quilt that I made for my doll quilt swap
partner in NYC. The theme was “where you
are from” Since I am from IOWA I thought the corn fabric was a fun fabric pick!
