Old, old funny redwork stitchery

I purchased this redwork block at a antique store in Osage, Iowa this summer. As you can see the gal who stitched it must of had quite a sense of humor, or else she had humorous goats!

Little Dutch Girl Stitchery

I found this little Dutch girl in a bag with it stitched.

First it is sketched out on the back of a calendar. April 1959. Then copied onto a white piece of paper, then onto the fabric. I wonder what it was going to be? A quilt block? A pillow? I will put it in a frame. Nothing went to waste. I love that.

Wooden stocking re-do

I found this wooden stocking at the local thrift shop, it wasn't bad, but wanted to re-do him and glitter him up a little.

I painted it a dark blue and then painted my snowman.

Added glitter and let him dry over night. He is ready for the season!

A Winter Wonderland

I love how Fons & Porter displayed my design in this months issue of "Love of Quilting". I am designing new ideas to send off, who knows where these buttons will go next!

Scotty menagerie

One of my favorite things to stitch. I never tire of seeing how these pups look in different colors of fabric and thread. No wonder they've been a main stay for years.

This measures 8" X 13" each Scotty is about 3" across. Sweetie pies...

Sewing chair re-do.

I found this chair awhile back at a thrift store. I remember seeing them when I was a child and thought I would take it home and clean it up.

After a thorough cleaning, I sewed a new pin cushion seat for it, put little "tufts" in it with two strands of floss and stuck some ceramic pin tops I had made in it. Found a pair of scissors for the top and six little spools of thread that I found at a thrift store. It turned out so cute! I boxed it up along with some other goodies for my secret Santa swap and sent her off!

Hope she likes it!
